I don't think it's fair to not be allowed to rent an apartment over being evicted because of something your child or children did over 20 some years ago,at least that's what I was told my reason for being denied was. they are all grown and it's just you so how can it be held against you after that many years have past. I feel it's more of a personal issue with a specific staff member instead of something that happened over 20 years ago and that's not right and it shouldn't be legal.
